We are excited to introduce the Beds R Us exclusive membership opportunity. The group has experienced amazing growth in the past few years, with multiple new stores opening around the country every year. Some of our current members have also experienced amazing growth over the past few years as well.

Beds R Us is now looking for more of the right people to join our member’s network across Australia, natural leaders who can take charge and add their own personal flair to the business.

What do the coming years hold?

We have launched several initiatives to support growth, including;

  • Innovating the retail experience such as the introduction of smaller retail formats to offer inner-city presence.
  • Improved supply and product quality. Contributing to the product design and development of Australia’s largest mattress manufacturer, Sleepyhead/SleepMaker.
  • Digital marketing investments—increased online exposure with a reinvigorated content strategy and message.

With more than 70 sites in Australia, the Beds R Us brand is the largest independent bedding furniture retailer in Australasia. Our leadership has over 145 years of combined industry experience and our support network provides friendly, professional and expert advice.

Current and Future Opportunities:

We are looking for people with current retail experience who would like to open a new Beds R Us store or purchase an existing one. We have multiple options available for locations, size and style all around Australia.

Our relationship with The Comfort Group (Sleepyhead & SleepMaker); Australia’s largest manufacturer of superior Australian-made mattresses, equips you with a diverse range of products. For over 90 years, their commitment to research and development across Australia and New Zealand has produced ‘world first’ innovations. Sleepyhead and SleepMaker’s brands, like For You, Slumber, Oasis, Miracoil, Osteo, Wonderest and Sanctuary, give Beds R Us members the competitive edge.

Beds R Us members receive detailed product training and support for the Sleepyhead product range through our supplier network.  

Our support office provides marketing materials such as digital advertising assets for social media, TV, radio and BVOD for members to use to promote their business in their local area. Members benefit from the collective experience of the network as well.

The advertising committee (who develop a marketing strategy for the group) is elected by the members and supports all stores. They implement initiatives to drive performance via our online members portal, which is updated frequently and provides marketing assets and price lists for the whole group to use.

The combination of merchandising, training and distribution are standout benefits of this opportunity, enabling you and your staff to offer customers the best product and experience.

We are committed to the success of our members. We invest product rebates and brand fees into national and local area marketing activities.  Annually, there are over 12 marketing campaigns provided with assets for stores to use. We use national advertising budgets at least 6 times a year to reach consumers through digital advertising, broadcast video on demand and free-to-air television.

As a members network, everyone has a say. Our advertising committee develops local activities to support national campaigns. You have an opportunity to champion initiatives in your area and drive performance.

Content for local activations is available on the Beds R Us Members’ Site and is updated frequently. To ensure your store is found online we provide members with a dedicated landing page on the Beds R Us
website.

With over 75,000 visitors a month, we continually invest and improve our online footprint. In 2020 we improved the product tagging on our website to create a tool that focuses on customer needs and benefits to help them find the right mattress.

Being part of our network means that you will have all the tools necessary to build brand awareness and grow sales.

Best of all we are able to state that 100% of the mattresses on our website are Australian Made! Not many bedding retailers can say that.

Retail is evolving, and our members are innovating to meet customer needs and expectations. Our team will work with you to find a location and design the layout of the store. We advise you on your initial opening order and staff training. Our goal is to help you make the most of your location. We offer 2 different formats for inner city, shopping centres and home-maker-type locations:  

LARGE FORMAT (Stand Alone Store)

  • over 600 sqm
  • a large range and combination of furniture, beds and mattresses

TRADITIONAL (Store within a Store or Stand Alone Store)

  • up to 350 sqm
  • an extensive range of beds and mattresses

We believe that training and support are critical to the success of each member.

We want to you experience our brand and in-turn share that with your customers. When you become a member of the Beds R Us network, we include a tour of the Sleepyhead factory in Queensland where you get to learn all about the manufacturing process.

Ongoing training modules are developed to provide you with practical advice on:

The online Members Site, home to a variety of assets, procedures and training tools, gives you a constant reference on Beds R Us best practices. Our annual conference complements the day-to-day support from head office. The annual conference provides members with an opportunity to share experiences with peers. We talk about industry news, trends and what it all means to our business.

As a cooperative and buying group, members benefit from a rebate advertising structure. These incentives give members the autonomy and flexibility to grow their business. Driven by a customer centric strategy, we are committed to helping you build brand awareness and sales.

We provide personalised support making the startup process as simple as possible. Beds R Us Support Office will provide you with a territory and recommendations on local area marketing (LAM). We will also supply you with training on our mattress ranges and give you a private tour of our factory and access to our member’s portal with ‘done for you’ marketing assets, so your business can thrive.

Beds R Us members also have exclusive access to our yearly conference (where you get to vote on the destination each year – so far we’ve been to China, Borneo, Fiji, Vanuatu, Macaua, New Zealand, Gold Coast, Port Douglas, Hobart and Bali this year!) where we hear from experts in the field and network with other stores around the country. This is invaluable, as it gives you the chance to talk to other people who are walking in the same shoes as you.
